An interview with… Miss Teen Galaxy Wales, Rebecca Moffatt!
Congratulations on becoming Miss Teen Galaxy Wales! What made you decide to enter The UK Galaxy Pageants?
Thank you very much! I entered Miss Teen Galaxy Wales in 2014 and placed 1st Runner Up and so when I was invited back to compete again this year, I was ecstatic. I had so much fun the first time round and I had never experienced such a professional, positive and well run pageant as Galaxy. I absolutely couldn’t resist returning to compete for a second time, then, when I won it was like a dream come true!
You always look so glam! What is your top beauty tip?
My top beauty tip would be to drink plenty of water, along with getting plenty of beauty sleep and green tea! This will help your complexion remain bright and your skin moisturised.
What do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?
I wouldn’t consider myself a gym fanatic, however, I do love walking and jogging outdoors! I’m quite lucky with regards to where I live, there’s a lot of greenery and country side! There’s nothing better than fresh air!
What have you learnt by competing in pageants?
Although this sounds clichéd, however, failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Practice! There are some great pageant coaches out there so choose a recommended one! Take on board advice and constructive criticism and make your performance unique to you!
Who is your style icon?
My style icon is Monic Marie Perez (Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2013). I follow her on every social media network! I just love her ability to look completely elegant and gracious yet quirky! Her style is so different and classy. Aside from her choice of clothing she is outrageously beautiful. Her evening gown for Miss Universe 2013 finals was out of this world! It is probably my favourite pageant gown, it was so different to anything I have seen before. I love everything about her and would love to meet her one day!
How would your best friend describe you?
Oh that’s a tough one! I would like to think they would describe me as loyal and dependant!
You will be competing in the international final of The Galaxy Pageants in just a couple months time! How are you preparing for America?
I’m so excited, I cannot wait to land in the USA, meet all of the other contestants from around the world and get back on stage! Preparations are well underway, with a strict toning regime and interview coaching coming up! Above all I am trying to get the balance right between being focused and relaxed about it because I really want to enjoy every minute of it!
Who is your role model?
Although it is said a lot, I do look up to my mum and always have done. However, my role model in life would be Katie Piper. She is a young lady who was involved in an acid attack and was left with severe facial disfigurement. Katie is a television presenter and former model. To overcome this and achieve all that she has is truly amazing. She has tremendous inner strength and is a fantastic role model for young women and for anyone!
What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Try not to focus too much on anyone else, concentrate on being the best version of yourself. The most beautiful thing you can wear is confidence and your smile!
Congrats again Rebecca! Best of luck at the international final!
Eeek thank you so much! I am so honoured to represent my country on an international level in such a prestigious system as Galaxy!❤️
