Helen, Miss Teen Galaxy England, reflects on her year this Christmas!
I can’t believe that Christmas has come around already. It doesn’t feel long ago since I was doing a lot of Christmassy appearances as Miss Teen Cheshire Galaxy – a very fun and important part of the lead up to becoming Miss Teen Galaxy England!
I was so ecstatic to win a title that I had worked so hard for and my year so far as part of the Galaxy family of queens has been incredible. The friendships I have built with my sister queens has made my time so fun – each and every one of them has played a huge part in the enjoyment of my year from our holiday in Wales, competing in America and other get-togethers we have had! Our trip to Plas Colwyn gave us all the chance to get to know each other (unfortunately with the exception of Rachael!) Wales was the first of many room sharing sleepovers with Kirsty (Mrs Galaxy UK) and lots of giggles and giddiness with all of the girls, about ghosts and beautician secrets!
With my Galaxy girls, families and ‘The Team’ by my side, we set of on a crazy journey to America. The plane journey gave me time to get to know my sister queen Rachael (the new Miss Galaxy!) and of course we charmed the cabin crew into having a back of the plane ‘photo shoot’ and lots of snacks! We had such a laugh. Although our plane journey was a little dramatic and very tiring due to long delays, we all stayed in good spirits and made light of the situation – after all, we were going to Florida! When we arrived Kirsty, Jaime-lee, Courtney and I settled into our Villa and I prepared myself for a week of laughing so hard until my tummy hurt – at one point we were all lay on the floor short of breath from laughing! We certainly had the best time in our Villa – love my ‘villoomies’! I was so proud of how well every single one of us did in America and I was so happy to reach the top five which was my aim! I managed to squeeze in two shopping trips – one with my Mum and the next Jessica and her Mum joined us! We certainly had a field day in those shops!
At this year’s Miss Teen/Junior Teen Great Britain we welcomed our two new sisters Brittany and Ella into our Pageant Girl family – they fitted right in from the moment they won. I got to catch up with some of my galaxy girls, and other beauty queens and I made a lot of new friends. Kirsty, Daisy and I had such a giggle in our hotel room as always! As well as the Teen GB girls, we also welcomed in Danielle, Alexandra and Chloe-Beth into our crazy family of beauty queens. I want to wish them all of the luck in the world for their up-coming internationals, they’re all so beautiful and lovely and I don’t doubt for one moment that they will be so successful. The Galaxy Queens and I were lucky enough to have a shoot with Sandstorm recently, where we each got to keep one of the beautiful pieces of swimwear we modelled! The photos are fab, and they certainly show why my Galaxy sisters won their titles!
I have many thank you’s to make, however I will keep it short until march and just say thank you to Holly and the Pageant Girl team, my beautiful sister queens and my family, friends and boyfriend for making my year enjoyable. I still have a few months left of enjoying my title and crown and I know I’m going to make the most of every moment!
To those competing in Galaxy 2014, remember that not everyone is as privileged as us this Christmas, use your title to make a difference to those less fortunate. I would like to wish everyone and their friends and family a wonderful Christmas.
Enjoy the festive season with your loved ones, eat lots, give and receive lovely gifts and most of all – stay safe. All of my love and Christmas wishes, Miss Teen Galaxy England. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
