Merry Christmas from Miss Galaxy Scotland, Emma Bain!
Our amazing Miss Galaxy Scotland, Emma Bain, would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
‘Hello everyone. Oh my goodness I can’t believe that Christmas is only 8 sleeps away! I am in serious denial haha! I have decided today is the day to get organised and have taken a tea break from wrapping my gifts to write this.
This time last year (almost to the day) I was on the phone to Corinna at the Pageant Girl office to secure my place in the Galaxy Scotland grand final. I was a late entry and didn’t receive my sash until after the New Year. I then worked my socks off with appearances and charity work on the lead up to the final. If anyone is reading this just now and is thinking about entering or having any doubts then please don’t! It’s never too late to enter. As long as you can tell the judges why and then prove to them how hard you have worked there is no reason why you can’t do well or even win. I speak from experience.
I have had to most incredible year. So much so I’m having to stop myself from typing it all out as no one will have time to read such a long message! When I was lucky enough to win the title of Miss Galaxy Scotland in February my life changed. I have never stopped since that day, attending events every single weekend from charity events to pageants and of course competed in the amazing Galaxy International final. I have met so many beautiful new friends and have so many treasured memories.
I hope that everyone has a magical Christmas with their loved ones. I will be celebrating with my family and friends and will enjoy a much needed break from work.
Looking towards the New Year fills me with sadness as I know I only have a sort time left as your reigning Miss Galaxy Scotland. However, I am truly excited to see who will follow in my footsteps and have the most amazing year of their life.
My best advice for finalists at this time is to write lists. Lists are my best friend. They keep you focused and organised. Also make a start on your appearance folder so that you are not rushing at the last minute. You want to make sure you make the best first impression you can on the judges. Also don’t panic if you haven’t found the perfect gown yet. There’s still time. Please remember it’s the girl in the gown that counts. Mine was borrowed. You don’t have to find the most expensive gown in the shop to win.
All that’s left for me to do is wish you all a very merry Christmas and health and happiness for the new year.
All my love, Emma, Miss Galaxy Scotland xxx’
