Mrs Galaxy, Sarah Pritchard, was invited to Brainwave to meet some amazing people!
Sarah Pritchard, our fabulous Mrs Galaxy, was invited to Brainwave to meet some amazing children with some truly incredible stories!
Here’s what Sarah had to say about her day:
‘I was invited to “Brainwave” to meet the most amazing, beautiful lady called Carol. Carol works tirelessly to raise money for Brainwave, which is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence by aiming to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of educational and physical therapies. The children they work with have a range of conditions including: autism, brain injuries such as cerebral palsy and genetic disorders such as Down’s Syndrome.
Whilst there I had the pleasure of spending time with Josh and his family. Joshua has diaplegia cerebral palsy, which means his disability predominately impacts both legs. Joshua can stand and walk short distances with the support of an adult or his walker. He has tightness to the back of his legs which has resulted in problems with his right hip joint. However over the past 7 months with the help from Brainwave Joshua and his parents have worked really hard on his therapy programme, which has helped to support his hip and reduced the risk of it getting worse. It was such an honour to speak with them. I can’t explain how fabulous Carol and her team are and I am so excited to be spending more time with them in my reign.’
What a lovely appearance, great work, Sarah!
