Mrs Galaxy UK, Tanya, & Miss Galaxy England, Stefanie, are working on amazing project with Kettering Hospital!
Tanya Collins & Stefanie Williams, our amazing Mrs Galaxy UK & Miss Galaxy England, are working on a fantastic project with Kettering Hospital!
‘We met with Jayne Chambers at Kettering Hospital to get us involved & help raise awareness of their new project. They are building a new dementia garden centre and are currently in need of fundraising and company donations to help with this.
We had a tour of the site and have been invited back for the grand opening to cut the ribbon.
We are raising money via our Forget-Me-Not appeal to enable us to build a dementia garden here at Kettering Hospital.
Located between two of our elderly care wards is a space that is currently unused, looks very tired and is desperate to be transformed into an area that will benefit our patients. Once built, this garden will dramatically improve the lives of our patients living with dementia and will provide them with an outside area to be able to enjoy sunny days and fresh air.
We know that evoking memories and creating positive experiences is so beneficial for both our patients, their families and loved ones too. So…we will be building our dementia garden around a seaside theme!! After all…we all have happy memories of being at the seaside!
The current space needs a complete renovation with both hard and soft landscaping to be carried out. We will be having a fantastic water feature installed, nice smelling and tasting plants and herbs, established trees for shade and an area to sit and enjoy the pleasures of the day. So, a fully interactive garden that provides a safe and stimulating space for our patients.
We know that once completed, this project will bring security, positive experiences, stimulation and a sense of calm to patients that feel confused, scared and alone.’
If anyone would like to donate to this amazing project, you can do so here!
What a wonderful project to be a part of, well done girls!
