Miss Galaxy England, Zara Ramsay-Nortley, organised her own charity fundraiser, and it was a huge success!
Zara Ramsay-Nortley, our lovely Miss Galaxy England, held her own charity fundraiser in aid of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation!
Here’s what Zara had to say about her fundraiser:
‘On Sunday, I held my first fundraiser with the title, in aid of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, at TriBeCa Bar, Manchester. Over the past few years, I’ve raised well-over £2000 for various charities, but this was the first event I’ve held for the JDRF, despite having been diabetic for almost 25 years. The event raised £306.52, bringing my JDRF total to 491.05. It was so lovely to have the support of fellow pageant girls, many of whom are part of the Pageant Girl systems.
A local teen, who happens to compete in pageants, reached out via Facebook having seen a link to the event, and told me about her own diabetic journey having been diagnosed with the condition aged 3 (like myself), and it was great to know that I’d inspired her to start her own JDRF fundraising. Being a condition that affects your lifestyle, it’s nice to know other people who are getting on with living life – which is what it’s all about!
The winning team happened to include the ever-competitive Galaxy UK director!
Huge thank you’s to the awesome sponsors for kindly donating space and prizes: TriBeCa Bar, Cirque Manchester, STAR Tanning, Sally-Ann Fawcett, With A Touch Of Sparkle, Sparkling Forever, James Roberts Hair and Beauty and The Luxe Lounge.’
Zara was joined by lots of other pageant girls who wanted to show their support including our Miss Teen Galaxy England, Ella Ravenscroft & Junior Miss Galaxy Europe, Tia Woodall!
Zara worked extremely hard to put it all together! Amazing work Zara, what a success!
